Hi everyone! I’m Yuki, a 27-year-old office worker♪ Last weekend, I had an amazing experience with three college friends that I want to share!
It was “Street Kart”! Honestly, at first I thought “Hmm, isn’t karting something for guys?” But… it was way more fun than I imagined, and totally fine for girls too! This Street Kart is really recommended♪
It Started with My Friend’s “Want to Try?”
It all started with my friend Miho. She apparently found Street Kart on Instagram and said, “Doesn’t this look interesting? Want to try it together?”
At first we were worried like “Isn’t it dangerous?” “Isn’t it difficult?” But we decided “Let’s just go for it!” Four girls challenging Street Kart!
Getting Super Excited About Outfit Planning
What got us most excited before the day was choosing outfits! In our LINE group we were like “What should we wear?” “Skirts are no good, right?” “We want to take cute photos!” We discussed so much.
In the end, we decided on easy-to-move pants styles with matching hoodies in different colors. Thinking about photo appeal and going colorful was the right choice♪
“Serious Mode” During Safety Briefing
On the day, when we arrived at the meeting point, first was the safety briefing. “Wow, this is serious~” we all got a bit nervous.
But the staff explaining was very kind, saying “Many women participate too,” which was reassuring♪ There were even cute helmet designs, which got us excited!
Screaming at Our First Engine Sound!
When we first started the engines, we all screamed “Kyaa!” (laugh). It was more powerful than expected, but rather than scary it was more like “exciting!”
“Are we really driving these?” It didn’t feel real, but the staff kindly said “It’s okay, take it slow.”
Amazed by Odaiba’s Scenery!
And off we went! It was slow at first, but once we got used to it, it was really fun♪ Odaiba’s scenery looks totally different from what we usually see.
When we saw Rainbow Bridge, we all cheered “Wowww!” The scenery while feeling the wind is different from driving, different from walking – it’s so liberating.
Photo Time Was the Most Fun♪
We had photo time along the way, and this was the most fun! The photos we took posing together with Tokyo Bay in the background became the best memories.
“I’m definitely posting this on Instagram!” we all got excited. The staff also joined in the fun saying “Okay, one more!”♪
Surprisingly Easy to Drive
I thought it would be “difficult” at first, but when I actually tried driving, it was surprisingly easy! If you can drive a car, you’re totally fine.
Ai-chan is usually a paper driver, but she was happy saying “Even I can do this!” The speed isn’t too fast either, so you can enjoy it safely.
Fun Waving to Each Other
Driving in a line of four was so fun! Turning back to wave at each other during traffic lights, calling out “You okay?”
It was a fresh way of communicating differently from usual. Sharing this kind of experience felt like it deepened our friendship bonds♪
Warm Reactions from Locals
While driving, local people wave at us! Some even cheer “Do your best~!” which made us feel so warm.
Especially impressive were the grandpas and grandmas watching with smiles saying “That looks fun~” It felt like everyone loved us?
Best Reflection Time at the Café
After the experience, we all had tea at an Odaiba café for reflection time♪ Looking at the photos we took, getting excited about “That was so fun” “Where should we go next?”
Having done something different from usual, we never ran out of things to talk about. These kinds of moments are really precious.
Definitely Instagram-Worthy!
When I posted the photos on Instagram, I got lots of comments like “Where is this?” “Looks fun!”♪ Especially since it was evening, the sunset and kart photos really stood out!
Even my friends’ followers reacted with “I want to try too!” It seems to be getting attention among girls.
Less Tiring Than Expected
I was worried “Won’t it be physically tough?” but I wasn’t tired at all. Rather, driving while feeling the wind felt refreshing♪
All the usual work stress flew away, and we all said to each other “I definitely want to do this again!”
Want to Try Again in Different Seasons
This time was autumn, but I want to try again in different seasons like spring cherry blossom season or summer evening coolness. I’m sure each has its own unique charm.
We promised “Let’s gather and do this again next spring!”♪
Also Recommended for Dates
There were couples participating too, and they looked really happy. It was heartwarming to see boyfriends escorting their girlfriends♪
We all talked about “This would be good for dates too.” It would make special memories different from regular dates.
Female Staff for Extra Peace of Mind
There were female staff members too, which added to our sense of security. When we asked “Is it okay for just women?” they answered “Of course!”
Actually, there were several other female groups, and everyone looked happy. It’s totally fine for just girls♪
Public Road Kart is Actually Safe
At first I thought “Isn’t driving karts on public roads dangerous?” but when I actually experienced it, I understood how much safety is considered.
There’s a guide with us, and they choose safe routes. Girls can enjoy public road karting safely♪
Tokyo Kart Tour is Amazing!
The Tokyo Kart Tour we used this time was really great! The staff were kind, they took lots of photos, and they really understood what girls want.
We’re all talking about “We definitely want to use Tokyo Kart Tour again!”♪
